Angélica Arbulu begun studying photography in 1990, but is mostly self taught. She had her first solo exhibition in 1993, and has exhibited solo and in groups in various cities throughout Europe, in Asia and the United States since. Her photos hang in private collections as well as in corporate establishments, and have been used for publications and websites throughout the world. She uses digital media, and views the photograph as only the first step in the process, playing with textures, different printing media, collage or hand painting and digital editing in order to enhance what is already there.

Arbulu now lives in Amsterdam where she takes private commissions, and is a regular photographer for the CRAVE Amsterdam guide. Besides her contributions to The Altruist, in 2009 Angélica she donated (and sold) two of her photographs as lamps for the Ray of Light Fundraiser, to support the education and living
conditions of children and their mothers in Cambodia’s prisons through
LICADHO’s Adopt-a Prison project.

See the contributions of Angélica Arbulu and the rest of our featured artists and photographers by heading to our Fundraiser Page. All proceeds from The Altruist Fundraiser go directly to the post-production funds for the film in order to edit our three hour rough cut down to a one hour TV documentary. We need your help!
